Supplemental Security Income (SSI): Provides monthly payments to persons over 65 or who are blind or disabled and who have limited income and few resources. Persons receiving SSI in NJ automatically receive Medicaid.

SSDI Childhood Disability Benefits (formerly called Disabled Adult Child (DAC) benefits): Child with disabilities that manifest before age 21 can receive disability payments based on a parent’s record if a parent dies; retires and becomes eligible for Social Security payments; or becomes disabled him/herself.
